I’m currently using WordPress 3.5 and I’ve had Minimax since version 1.3.2 and upgraded it to 1.4.0. No matter what version, or whether I try a fresh install – I have had errors with layout and functionality of modules. I use Twitter Bootstrap “The Bootstrap” Theme v3 created by Konstantin Obenland.

The issues and errors are too many to list here, but suffice to say after several support requests here and some assistance, I have resolved some and manged to work around by editing CSS or using HTML code directly in the text module to work around. Well there is some I’ll mention, such as 2/3 column layout is broken (reverses to the incorrect 2/3), dragging modules between different Minimax layout sections sometimes works but most often doesn’t.

One key remaining error is that Minimax’s module layout screws all the Bootstrap compliant grid framework and Responsive CSS formatting for other devices, eg what looks correct on normal PC screen, when you view on Tablet web device Minimax totally screws the grid layout, so the page is unreadable. This defeats the purpose of using Twitter Bootstrap framework, as you may as well manualy use the Bootstrap grid instead of using Minimax in this case.

I am now going to give it one last try and upgrade to Minimax v1.5.0, in the hope this works as advertised and without errors. So please if you can advise:

– what are the steps to setup with an active site with Minimax upgrading from 1.4.0 to 1.5.0?
– should I install fresh to ensure there is no bad code left, or do you suggest upgrading from 1.4.0 will be clean?
– does Minimax work with Twitter Bootstrap, if so with what specific install, theme plug-in, author or version? There are several Twiiter Bootstrap themes, authors and install methods – which one do you recommed or have you tested for use with Minimax?

Alternatively I’ve found some very helpful developers who have created a pure Twitter Bootstrap module that has similar features to Minimax, but actually works as advertised and I will happily use that.
